SloMo squad shooter “Project CQB” will be coming to Android soon

For fans of top down, tactical, squad based shooters, there will be another entry to Android’s growing list. Currently dubbed “Project CQB” (per the dev’s website, that’s only a place holding title), this game is where players control a squad of three units, and will face off against a squad of the same size, with each side attempting to killing off the others.

Part of what I like about this game is that, rather than giving orders and standing back to watch the carnage, players have the ability to drastically slow down time, to allow for making adjustments on the fly. Having seen this on Pocket Gamer, they mentioned that it’s like Frozen Synapse, only better; I find it difficult to disagree with that, as I found myself quite board with the solo campaign and unable to complete it.

If these tactical, hit squad style games appeal to you, check out the trailer we’ve linked to. There’s no definitive release date, and the tentative one on the dev’s website has already blown past (Q1 of this year). For those who don’t want to wait, there’s a six level demo that’s playable on Windows that can be downloaded from the dev’s site.
