The third installment in the Steve Jackson Sorcery! series from inkle finally has an official release date which is April 23rd, 2015. This means the wait will finally be over in a couple of weeks and you can finally get your hands on the next installment into the franchise which, if you have been following our coverage of Sorcery! 3, had a whole lot of changes.
[Update: April 22nd, 8:40 PM, PST] The latest game book adventure from Inkle Studios is now live in the Google Play Store. If you have been waiting for the arrival of Sorcery 3, wait no longer. The game is available to download for $4.99. Parts 1 and 2 are not required to play the game. There is no mention of in-app purchases in the Google Play description. The link to download the game can be found at the end of this article.
Along with the announcement of an official release date, Sorcery! 3 also now had a new trailer to check out. While this new installment has a lot of changes coming to it, which almost doubles the amount of content over the previous games, a lot of the same gameplay and look are still there which is a good thing for fans of the series.
Sorcery! 3 New Features Rundown:
– A massive open world to explore. Plot your own path across two gorgeous 3D maps (present and past), shaping the narrative with every decision you make. Inspired by 80 Days’ world map, this new open-ended adventure takes players off the gamebook’s predefined course to make you the master of a completely non-linear adventure.
– The passage of time. A dynamic day/night cycle and fluid travel between two distinct time periods set up a layered narrative with even more story to discover. Plus, the freedom to rewind time at will lets you see how alternate choices impact the story.
– True choice-driven storytelling. The longest and most complex Sorcery! game so far includes thousands of branching story paths impacted not only by present choices, but also by the decisions you made in earlier games.
– That special inkle touch. From its masterful writing, whimsical hand-drawn illustrations, and rich soundtrack to its turn-based combat, magic spells, optional dice mini-game, and choice of a male or female hero, Sorcery! 3 takes this fantasy series’ most-loved elements to an exciting new level.
