Square Enix unleashes their awesome Chrono Trigger RPG onto Google Play

Square Enix has released another game onto the Google Play store today which should make old school RPG fans rather happy. Today we see that Chrono Trigger has finally made it to Android and on top of that, it looks like Square Enix may be testing out a slightly lower price tag for their premium games as well with this new release.

Chrono Trigger was originally created by what is commonly known as the ‘Dream Team’ of old school RPG developers from back in the day. The team includes Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, and the creators of Final Fantasy, all of which teamed up to create Chrono Trigger. For those of you curious, this is indeed the original Chrono Trigger but brought over to mobile devices. iOS has had it for awhile and now us Android gamers are being graced with it’s presence.

Chrono Trigger Features:

– Includes the two additional areas from the Nintendo DS version of the game. The Dimensional Vortex: A mysterious, ever-changing dungeon existing outside of space and time. What wonders await you at its center? The Lost Sanctum: Enigmatic gates in prehistoric and medieval times will lead you to these forgotten chambers. Meet the challenges presented to you and long-lost secrets may be revealed…
– Intuitive touch screen controls make it easier than ever to navigate this vast world of adventure. In battle, slide and tap to select targets and cut through your foes!
– Graphics optimzed especially for Android.
– Supports eight languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese (Traditional/Simplified), and Japanese.
– Employ a wide range of “techs” to dispatch your foes in thrilling battles. Combine the powers of your party members to unleash two- and three-person combos. Over fifty combinations in all offer players numerous options and in-depth combat

While this is the original Chrono Trigger game, Square Enix has included the two extra zones that came with the Nintendo DS version, The Dimensional Vortex and The Lost Sanctum. This game also features all the game mechanics from the original including the ability to combine powers between characters in your group.

For those of you who have been waiting forever to see Chrono Trigger to arrive on Android, you can jump over to the Google Play store and grab yourself a copy for $9.99, a price which is quite lower than the previous few releases by Square Enix. Good to know that Square Enix is making good of their promise that they made awhile back to bring a lot of these games to Android.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
