Star Wars: Hunters has announced shutdown even before completing one year. However, it will get to celebrate its one year anniversary before actually shutting down. But is a dying game’s anniversary worth celebrating?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers are officially shutting down on October 1st, 2025. The game is calling it quits after just nine months of its launch. Now, they’re giving players a few extra weeks to finish up Season 5, which ends on April 15th.
Zynga, the developer and publisher of the game, is dropping one final content update which is on April 15th. It will bring one last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. In-game purchases will also be disabled on the same day.
Ranked Mode will continue until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. If you have unspent Crystals, you should use them up since there won’t be any refunds.
It Isn’t Shocking
It’s unfortunate, but it seems like Hunters was set up for failure from the start. The game was first announced in 2020 and then delayed multiple times, with beta tests happening only in SEA and ANZAC regions.
A delayed launch, a lack of major console support and a lukewarm reception all led to the Star Wars: Hunters shutdown.
Even in terms of design, it feels like they fumbled an easy win. Star Wars is full of iconic characters, but they went with generic original characters instead of the legends of the galaxy.
If you uninstalled the game but want to jump back in for one last ride, it’s still available to download until the shutdown. So, you can check it out on the Google Play Store.
