[UPDATE: Game Released] Story-driven roguelike PC game Sproggiwood will be making its way to Android soon

Fans of Roguelike games have a new one to look forward to soon and this one happens to be a port of a currently existing PC title. Developed by FreeHold Games, Sproggiwood will be making the leap from PC to mobile next week and if you are worried about the game being slimmed down for mobile gameplay, FreeHold Games says that it will be full featured and not trimmed down.

[UPDATE: May 27th, 9:37 PM, PST] The Roguelike game Sproggiwood is now available to download from FreeHold Games. This is a premium priced game coming in at $9.99 without any in-app purchases listed in the description. If you were looking forward to this PC to mobile port, the game is now available to download in the Google Play Store. The link can be found at the end of this article.

Sproggiwood features a rather cute art style, but even so, player will have to use skill to survive their journey through Sprog. What is Sprog? Well Sprog is a humor-filled world based off of Finnish mythology. Players start off as a simple farmer who happens to be tending crops and animals. Due to a talking sheep that happens to appear, you end up following him through a portal and winding up the ‘prisoner’ of Sproggi, a forest spirit who tasks you with taming the monsters of its realm in order to maintain peace.

Sproggiwood Features:

– A humorous setting inspired by Finnish mythology
– Brain-churning tactical combat vs. an assortment of creative monsters and traps
– Six fully unique, customizable classes: simple farmer, brave warrior, merry archer, cunning thief, brainy wizard, and creepy vampire
– Procedural dungeons filled to the brim with scrolls, potions, swords, and staves
– Town decoration mode with buildings, trees, roads, and villagers

This is where things get interesting. While you are farming the creatures of this new realm, you end up discovering a new civilization. At this point you have the choice as to whether you become friends with this new civilization, or do you end up crushing this new civilization, along with everyone else, in order to claim Sproggiwood as your own. Since this is a Roguelike, Sproggiwood has procedurally-generated dungeons which are filled with monsters, traps, weapons, loot, and much more. If you die though, it isn’t game over like most Roguelike games. Instead you can do back and loot some more.

Sproggiwood is slated for release next week on May 28th, 2015 and since this game is a full port of the PC game, FreeHold has decided to price it the same as the PC version on Steam. In other words it will cost you $9.99 to snag a copy of this game. There are, however, no IAPs or ads at all, so you will just get the whole game.

Side Note: If you check Steam right now for Sproggiwood, you will see it priced at $14.99. This price will be going down on May 25th, 2015 to $9.99 right before the mobile version release.
