Sunset Hills is a new puzzle game on Android by Cottongame, the publishers of Reviver and Mr. Pumpkin Adventure. Continuing on the footsteps of their previous games, this game is also set in a soft, pastel-coloured world. It’s full of old city buildings, humanoid dogs and heartwarming stories.
Accompany Nico, a War Veteran, in His Journey
In Sunset Hills, you play as Nico Grant, a novelist who once served in the army. It’s June 794 when he boards a train to revisit his fellow ex-servicemen.
It’s been seven years since the war ended, and something inside him pushes him to reconnect with them. The friends he’s visiting are Ferruccio, Doug and Roy.
The game slowly unpacks emotions and memories. As a kid, Nico was quiet, more interested in books than people, often lost in his imagination.
But he was pulled into the war like everyone else, and being small and different didn’t help. He was bullied, left behind, and constantly trying to catch up. Still, he found his own way to cope through writing.
A little notebook became his outlet. Strangely enough, that same notebook became the bridge between him and his squadmates. What started as teasing turned into friendships that would last long after the war ended.
Now as an adult and a published writer, Nico’s journey takes him across different cities and countries by train. At each stop, you’re stepping into moments along with solving puzzles.
Sunset Hills Shows That Life after War Is Strange
The game is a point-and-click adventure where dialogue matters. You get clues from conversations, pick up and combine items, and figure out what connects where.
Some puzzles are about finding the right item, others about helping people, solving little crimes, or escaping chases. You’ll also be stitching clothes, baking bread and performing with a band.
Sunset Hills has hand-drawn art mixed with 3D scenes. The buildings are Victorian-inspired which make the game a lot more charming. Take a look at the trailer below.
