Terraria 2 will land on mobile around its PC launch, now we just need the actual game to be made

Terraria was just recently released onto Android last month and we are already talking about the sequel. Details regarding the actual Terraria 2 game are pretty scarce but there is a good reason for that, development on the actual game itself hasn’t really even started yet. With that said, we do know a few things regarding the launch of the sequel and what platforms will be getting the game.

The creator of Terraria announced his plans for the sequel recently and while the original announcement was in regards to the PC version of the game, further details were released in a talk with PocketGamer who found out that Andrew Spinks has plans to code the sequel in a much better and more portable way, allowing him to launch the game on more than one platform close to simultaneously.

I am wanting to code Terraria 2 in a more portable language so it can be released on multiple platforms at launch or close to launch. 3DS is something I was very interested in getting Terraria on but the system unfortunately cannot run Terraria the way it needs to be ran. – Terraria creator Andrew Spinks

So it seems like PC will most likely get the first release with Android and iOS version coming out as close to the PC release as possible. Looks like 3DS users will be out of luck though. Of course we have awhile to wait since development of the sequel has barely started. One feature we will most likely see arrive in the sequel is infinite worlds.
