A decade after its debut, The Battle of Polytopia is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026. The game first went live on February 26th, 2016. The minimalist strategy title brings a series of activities from its creator, Midjiwan, for the anniversary.

The Battle of Polytopia began as a passion project from lead developer and Midjiwan founder Felix Ekenstam in 2010. Working alone, he spent six years developing a game inspired by large-scale PC and console strategy titles. At launch, it featured a single-player structure with one game mode and included just five tribes.

And now, the 10th anniversary is adding tons of new things to The Battle of Polytopia

The campaign begins with the release of a signed, limited-edition 10 Year Anniversary poster, available through the official Midjitree store. Each copy of the poster will be signed and numbered by Midjiwan. It’s printed on 200g silk matte Premium paper and comes in size A3.

More additions are planned before the year concludes. Midjiwan will launch a new gameplay mode and additional features later this year. And a physical card game based on the franchise is in works as well.

The game has earned multiple accolades in the past decade

Its player base now spans 270,000+ fans across its wider community spaces, with more than 50,000+ members on Discord. During 2025, The Battle of Polytopia surpassed 25 million organic downloads on mobile.

Meanwhile, the highlight last year was the Polytopia Word Championships. Held from September to December 2025, the global eSports tournament attracted over 10,000 sign-ups and featured a prize pool of $10,000.

Right now, you can find the newest content in the game. The Imperius Tribe Moon is now available, with General Percus leading a successful campaign against the Oumaji. Check out the game on the Google Play Store.
