The Division Resurgence is Delayed to 2024, But Will Get A Public Beta This Year

The Division Resurgence characters.

Bad news, The Division fans. Ubisoft has pushed the launch of The Division Resurgence into next year, with the App Store listing now stating a March 31 release date.

It’s worth bearing in mind that App Store release dates aren’t always accurate. If I was a betting man, I’d say Ubisoft chose this release date as it marks the end of Q1, which is the window in which it will launch.

So I’d take that date with a pinch of salt. It could very well arrive earlier, but March 31 is almost certainly the absolute latest it will arrive. Or it will be later. What do I know?

What’s This About a Public Beta?

There is good news though. While it won’t launch this year as we originally expected, you will get a chance to play it before 2023 is out.

Ubisoft will hold another play test during the autumn, or fall if you’re in the US. That’s between October – December, and is set to be the biggest test yet.

We don’t know exactly which territories the test is planned for, but Ubisoft does mention the US specifically. Also, the wording of ‘new territories’ implies that those who participated in the first can get involved in the new one.

Are There Any New Features?

Ubisoft has also detailed a number of improvements that will feature in the new play test. These include an overhauled tutorial, faster progression, and better loot.

There’s also a new Armory system that helps you keep track of the gear you have collected, as well as fast travel. As the name suggests, this allows you to get around a lot faster.

What’s The Division Resurgence?

For those unaware, The Division Resurgence is a mobile version of Ubisoft’s MMORPG series. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, and focuses on cover shooting gameplay.

This marks a first for the series on mobile, and it looks like one of the most ambitious mobile releases to date. If you have played The Division or its sequel before, Resurgence looks like a fully-fledged entry.

You can pre-register for it right now on the official site or Google Play. I’ll keep a close eye on the game, and try and let you know as soon as Ubisoft announces a firm release date.
