The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker Finally out on Android

It’s been a long-time coming, but the Gwent-based single player RPG The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker has finally landed on the Play Store. You can go and play it right this second, which is pretty cool. But should you?

Well, if you’re looking for an RPG that’s packed with really interesting characters from The Witcher universe, and is built around one of the most addictive and interesting deck-building mechanics we’ve seen for a while, then yeah you probably should.

Really, the story here is the biggest selling point. It’s full of intrigue and excitement and difficult choices, and it’s going to have you on the edge of your seat all the way to the bitter end. And this is a Witcher game, so you know the end is going to be bitter.

In terms of the payment model, Thronebreaker is going down the freemium route. You can play up to a certain point in the game, and if you want to continue you’ll have to buy an IAP. It’s a pretty common way of doing things these days, and while some people aren’t fans, it strikes us as pretty sensible.

That said, there are reports on the Play Store that the download for the third part of the game isn’t working, so bear than in mind.

The game features cross-save compatibility, so you’ll be able to play on your phone and then pick it up on your PC if you’ve got that version. You can also unlock goodies for Gwent by playing.

If you fancy giving Thronebreaker a go, you can click here to download the game from the Google Play Store.
