feature image for our tokyo ghoul: break the chains pre-download news, the image features a screenshot from the game of a cutscene with ken as he screams, as one of his eyes has turned black and red due to his half-ghoul form, as the ghost of rize clings onto his shoulders and says "c'mon take a bite! it doesn't get any better than this!"

Get your Anteiku coffee brewed and get that mask on, it’s time to dive into the world of Ghouls. The Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains pre-download is now available ahead of its release on November 9!

Hi Ken! Wait… Wrong Franchise

Revisit the legendary world of Tokyo Ghoul in this striking mobile adaptation. Familiar faces, some of those who aren’t welcome, will make an appearance throughout as you follow the story of Ken Kaneki.

Cutscenes from the original anime series have been altered to match the cel-shaded 3D art style, breathing some fresh air into the franchise. However, I still don’t know how I feel about cel-shading…

Play as Rize! (Or Don’t, Nobody Would Blame You)

You might know the story of Tokyo Ghoul like the back of your hand, but what if you could be part of it yourself? You can get right into the action as you take part in strategic battles against your opponents.

Plus, you can assemble a team from a selection of characters that you all know and love (and hate). Not only that but you can also play alongside other Tokyo Ghoul fans with co-op mode battles and in the PvP arena.

We tend to see a ton of mobile games come out that are based on popular anime series, but only some succeed. As a long-time Tokyo Ghoul fan, and with it being one of the first anime series I ever watched, I hope it does well! Admittedly, I’m not overly keen on big franchises being turned into a gacha game, but alas.

Anyway, I’m off to install the Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains pre-download now before it comes out tomorrow. Happy hunting, Ghouls!
