Last night’s PlayStation showcase was bursting with exciting releases. However, one of the more unexpected ones was the announcement of Tower of Fantasy coming to PlayStation.

There isn’t a large number of gacha games on the platform. But, with Genshin Impact and soon-to-be Honkai Star Rail being available to play on PlayStation, this news surprised us. Tower of Fantasy is officially coming to PlayStation this summer!

For more information about the game, visit the official website or follow the official Twitter page! Additionally, you can download the game on Google Play.

An Impressive Feat

Tower of Fantasy itself is a pretty popular game within the gacha genre, though it’s definitely not in the same league as Hoyoverse’s titles. Still, it’s impressive that the game will be making an appearance on PlayStation consoles soon – the global release was only last August.

While we enjoy Tower of Fantasy, it did suffer from a lot of performance issues and bugs post-launch. With a ton of updates being added over the course of the past few months, there’s a lot of gameplay on offer. Not everyone has a PC, so moving the game to console is not only a brilliant marketing decision, but it’s great for the players too.

How Will it Run?

We imagine that the overall combat and traversal mechanics will be able to transfer over smoothly. Genshin Impact runs brilliantly on PlayStation, and we assume Honkai Star Rail will be just as good.

Still, we’re looking forward to seeing how Tower of Fantasy performs on the console, and we’ll make sure to report on any problems that may arise around the launch. It was once donned the name of “Genshin Impact’s competitor”, and while a lot of Genshin players did move over for a while, the game is hard to beat.
