Japanese game studio Furyu Corporation has dropped Trinity Trigger, an action RPG on Android. Previously launched on consoles and PC with Xseed Games as the Western publisher, the new mobile version is instead self-published by Furyu.
What’s the Story in Trinity Trigger?
You step into the shoes of Cyan, a young man fated to battle the Warrior of Order as the chosen Warrior of Chaos. In Cyan’s journey across the land of Trinitia helps his alliance with Elise and Zantis.
Both of them accompany him into battle, along with the Triggers. Triggers are beast-like companions that transform into eight different weapon types. You can freely swap between characters during combat to adjust your strategy in real time.
The story has classic JRPG tropes. There’s destiny, forgotten pasts, and a world teetering on the edge of chaos. You’ll find a familiar structure of towns, NPC conversations, and dungeon exploration.
The dungeons in Trinity Trigger carved from the remains of godlike weapons, referred to as Arma. They serve as battlegrounds full of puzzles, secrets, and enemies to conquer. And the environments range from snowfields to deserts.
What About the Combat?
Combat relies heavily on the Weapon Wheel. It’s a system that allows you to quickly switch between different weapons to exploit enemy weaknesses. Meanwhile, you can upgrade your gear using materials collected during your adventure.
Trinity Trigger has fully voiced dialogue and well-animated cutscenes that punctuate the story with quality visuals. You can switch between three characters, each with access to nine weapons and a set of skills.
