A few days ago word began to circulate around that residents living in the UK would finally be able to get their hands on Google Play gift cards at some point in the near future. This was largely thanks to an update to the help section regarding ‘Gift cards & Google Play balance’ which specifically referenced the fact that Google Play gift cards were now available in the UK.
Even though the help center stated that they were now available, no one had really seen a single Google Play gift card yet in the UK. However, that has now changed as people have begun seeing thse gift cards appearing in Tesco stores. This was later confirmed by Eurodroid who had a picture sent into them showing the actual Google Play gift cards in a Tesco store.
UK Google Play gift cards will be available in three denominations: £10, £25, and £50. If you happen to have a lot of cash to burn, you will be happy to know that you can load up to £2000 in credit using gift cards in your Google Wallet. So if you live in the UK and are located near a Tesco store, you might want to head over there and see if they have arrived yet for your area. Looking at the support page on Google where locations people can buy gift cards still returns a 404 error which means these just might be early sales right now.
