Valhalla Survival has just dropped a massive new update, bringing new systems and challenges. Lionheart Studio has officially added a new Hero Ascension System to Valhalla Survival. Alongside that, there are tons of new battlefield items.

What Does the New System Do?

The Hero Ascension System in Valhalla Survival lets you upgrade your heroes using Hero Shards. Each upgrade improves both Hero and class-specific skills. Also, you can unlock a second skill slot to equip abilities from other heroes.

Every upgrade attempt is guaranteed to succeed. And reaching specific ascension tiers provides cumulative passive boosts. If you hit milestone levels, you can also unlock special profile icons and frames that reflect your progression.

You can check out the list of heroes eligible for upgrade under the Hero Advancement tab. There, you can also preview how skills will evolve before committing to the ascension.

At the first tier, the system enhances hero skills and unlocks the extra skill slot. The second tier focuses on improving class skills. Higher tiers are expected to arrive in later updates.

There’s a Hero Trial System, too!

It lets you try out heroes you haven’t unlocked yet. You can do so by entering a special five-minute stage where monsters attack without actually dealing damage.

During the trial, hero skills have a fixed 10-second cooldown, and only a specific level and equipment set is applied. If the trialled hero has access to ascension effects, those will be active during the session.

Next, they’ve added three treasure chest items. They are Flames of Muspelheim, Footsteps of Loki, and Coin of Fate. They bring unique effects, from offensive fire projection to temporary invincibility in combat.

Meanwhile, Nightmare Mode now has a fifth chapter. It’s for experienced players with a higher difficulty ceiling. If you have yet to try out this hack-and-slash roguelike game, grab it from the Google Play Store.
