It was a much-needed collab! Coolabi Group is teaming up with Red Games Co. to develop the first-ever official mobile game on Warrior Cats. The game based on the bestselling book series is scheduled for a 2027 release.
What else do we know about the Warrior Cats mobile game?
It will be available worldwide except in China, with support for 12 languages at launch. Right now, other details haven’t been revealed yet.
Warrior Cats has been Coolabi’s crown jewel for years, and with good reason. It has already seen huge success across books, licensing deals, and digital platforms.
The fantasy series was first published by HarperCollins under the pen name Erin Hunter. Till now, it has sold over 77 million copies in 38 languages and spent more than 15 years on the New York Times bestseller list.
It all began when HarperCollins asked editor Victoria Holmes to create a fantasy story centred on feral cats. Holmes built the concept and worked with authors Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, and others to form the Erin Hunter collective.
The first arc, The Prophecies Begin, started with Into the Wild in 2003. From there, it sparked an entire universe of sequels, spin-offs, and graphic novels.
Meanwhile, the Warriors community has also flourished online, with the Roblox game Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition becoming a standout fan hub. It’s been played more than 600 million times, and the series continues to inspire a massive fandom.
Who is Red Games Co.?
The studio is known for creating family-friendly and multi-generational titles. It’s behind collaborations with LEGO, Mattel, Hasbro, Crayola, and Moonbug. The company also builds its own original IPs.
For Coolabi, the upcoming game follows several other big moves this year. They signed Bonkers Toys as Master Toy Partner and Retail Monster as the North American Licensing Agent. The company also struck a deal with Tencent Video to develop TV and film adaptations.
