Way of the Hunter: Wild America has finally landed on mobile. Developed by Nine Rocks Games, it’s the first mobile entry in the Way of the Hunter series. It takes players deep into the heart of the North American Pacific Northwest, specifically the Nez Perce Valley in the USA.
Track Deer, Wolves and Other Animals Through Dense Pine Forests
The game doesn’t hold back when it comes to realism. Animals behave the way just like they do in the wild. They’re skittish, observant, and part of a bigger ecosystem that changes based on your decisions.
While hunting animals, you’re interacting with a living, breathing environment that reacts to your presence. Way of the Hunter: Wild America puts a big focus on ethical hunting. It has a story that explores the ups and downs of a family hunting business.
You have to read animal signs, check blood splatters, and review your shots using a rewindable bullet camera. There’s a Hunter Sense, which helps highlight useful details. You have the option to turn it off and rely purely on instinct.
The game includes plenty of licensed equipment from Bushnell, Federal, Leupold, Primos, Remington, and Steyr Arms. There’s a full in-game economy too. You can sell meat, buy better gear, get new hunting passes, or decorate your trophy stands.
Way of the Hunter: Wild America Has Many Options
The game includes dozens of animal species with their own natural behaviour models. They even have antlers and horns that are procedurally generated based on age and fitness.
The game also has a full 24-hour day and night cycle, shifting weather and wind, and realistic bullet physics. There’s a photo mode to document the perfect moments, like a bear crossing a river at sunrise or a herd of elk silhouetted against the mountains.
You can play using a gamepad or stick with optimised mobile touch controls, depending on your setup. Way of the Hunter: Wild America is available now on Android, priced at $9.99. Get it from the Google Play Store.
