Zen Studios finally brings Castlestorm to Android in the form of a beta test

Way back in 2012 we reported on a game not related to pinball that Zen Studios was working called CastleStorm. Android users have been waiting awhile to get their hands on this non-pinball game from the pinball experts. Well Zen Studios has told us that the game is near an official release but for right now those of you interested in this game can try to jump into the beta program for CastleStorm on Android.

For those of you not familiar with this game, CastleStorm is an interesting blend of physics-based puzzler, such as Angry Birds, but combining it with RTS and tower defense genres. CastleStorm looks to be quite the entertaining and challenging game. Players will be catapulting shots at the enemies castle but will also have to concern themselves with ground troops and sending them off into battle against enemy troops.

As one would expect from Zen Studios, the visuals of CastleStorm are pretty solid 3D render graphics. Players will have distinct troop classes, weapons, spells, bonus rooms, eight playable hero characters as well as brand new spells for the mobile version.

If you’re interested in participating in the beta, it is a private closed testing phase so you will have to apply to get into it. To do this, people interested will need to go to the CastleStorm – Free to Siege Google Group and put in their application there. You’ll be notified if you are good to go on the beta testing. The official release will be later this Spring on both Amazon’s Appstore and Google Play.
