Nvidia’s Tegra 4 Android-powered handheld gaming device Shield will be officially launching tomorrow. For those of you who pre-ordered one of these, shipping of your orders will also begin tomorrow which means you should have your hands on your new Shield in a matter of days.
GungHo Entertainment have certainly done well since they decided to start making games for mobile. In fact one of their games happens to be making them a ridiculous amount of money each month. Their newest release, which hit Google Play a few days ago, is called Freak Tower and is a rather unique blend of business sim and tower defense.
R2Games is a company known for their browser-based MMO games that a lot of browser gamers tend to play. Well the company looks to be getting into the mobile scene as well with their upcoming game called Excalibur. This game will be an action-filled MMORPG title but instead of being for browsers, this one will be available for mobile gamers.
Double Fine already has a couple of games slated for release onto Android as well as Ouya although they seem to still be in development right now and taking much longer than anticipated. However, they do have other titles already developed for other platforms and one such game is called Dropchord.
While Google’s Chromecast has only been available since the company announced it last week, someone has already hacked the streaming device and stuffed a GameBoy emulator into it. Most people won’t be surprised at the fact that the Chromecast got hacked an something like this was stuck onto it but how games are loaded up and played is actually pretty interesting.
EA’s recently released Tetris Blitz games has had an update pushed to it which brings a whole new leveling system along with a whole bunch of new rewards for the leveling system. For those of you who don’t use Facebook with this game, there is a new selection of leaderboards specifically for you to compete in now.
LavaCat from PocketCake features a little kitty by the name of Lucky who is apparently not that lucky at all. Somehow Lucky managed to get stuck in the underworld (basically Hell) and is now trying to escape so he can be reunited with his family. Obviously, since this is Hell he’s trying to escape, getting out of there won’t be that easy.
A rather popular iOS game called Blastron has made the jump from iOS to Android finally. This particular game is a lot like the Worms franchise but instead of combat worn worms being the main troops, Blastron has robots playing that part instead, trying to kill enemy robots throughout the each rounds of play.
Even though Google Glass isn’t out for public consumption just yet and there are only a few of them floating around right now, AMA Ltd has already finished a game for the wearable technology called Escape. This game is already available for those of you interested in checking it out over on Google Play and AMA Ltd has ported it over to Google Glass as well which must have been an interesting job to accomplish.
Another week is winding down, heading towards the weekend and that can only mean one thing and that is it’s time for another round-up of Android games that happen to be on sale right now.
