Nevosoft is planning to release a new platformer onto Android on July 11th, 2013 called City Cat. This particular platformer features a cat that looks like Garfield and Nyan Cat mated and had a baby. The cat looks like Garfield while shooting out a rainbow out from behind him as he runs and jumps through the game.
Yesterday we talked about Rovio Stars and the fact that they would be releasing Tiny Thief, their first third-party game, onto Android on July 11th. This is a pretty interesting stealth-style puzzle game wrapped in a medieval theme where you’ll have over 50 characters to interact with across 30 different levels and over a hundred hidden items to find.
Amiga Games Inc has been acquired by Writers’ Group Film for a mere $500,000 which, considering they are apparently getting access to over 300 titles in the deal under existing licensing agreements with multiple intellectual property owners, seems a bit low. So why the hell are we talking about this news? Because Amiga Games Inc is a company that republishes classic Amiga games onto new platforms such as smartphones and tablets and Writers’ Group Film is a digital content distribution company.
Gameish Games have published their first title onto Google Play and it is a rather neat little platformer called Kentucky Robo Chicken. The goal in this platformer is to fulfill your chicken’s dream who happened to have had one of his red bulbs stolen from his head. While he has two red ones, he had to replace the missing bulb with a blue one.
The rather popular board game from Games Workshop and Nomad Games has received its first major content update today. Talisman Prologue‘s new update brings with it six new classes to play as. With these new classes also comes new quests for each new class, so there is plenty of new content to play through.
A new action platformer has arrived onto Android that was inspired by some of the more classic games of this genre from back in the day where 16-bit games ruled. Developed by PewPewNinjaX, Olethros has you thrust into a weird and terrible world after your wife was kidnapped. For some particular reason, once you are there in this new world, a talking bird speaks to you and offers up his help.
Back in June we mentioned that Sega had come on board in regards to bringing their blue hedgehog over to the Android-powered game console Ouya. Well two of their games have finally arrived today: Sonic 4 Episode I and Episode II. Sonic CD is currently coming down the pipeline as well and should be arriving in the near future.
Interesting news today that happens to be in regards to another game development studio getting purchased. While this isn’t a complete buy-out of Backflip Studios, the company has had a majority stake purchase by the massive toy company Hasbro. The toy company has been steadily getting more involved in mobile gaming over the last year or so, mostly with licensing out some of their franchises to have mobile games made from them.
Back in December of last year we talked about a rather cool looking turn-based multiplayer combat game called TurtleStrike. This particular game is similar in style to other games of this nature such as Worms, except this has turtles packing big weaponry instead of a bunch of worms. When the game begins, players will create three different formations using a total of 10 turtles each.
Pong style games are quite plentiful as the format of the game is simple and works easily on any mobile device. However a lot of them lack any sort of flare that they would need to have in order to set themselves apart from the rest of the crowd. Super Pirate Paddle Battle is a Pong game but is wrapped up in a pirate theme and some pretty solid graphics to make it almost a unique game onto itself.
