We are sure you remember our story the other day about legendary guitarist Slash of Guns N’ Roses fame who also happens to be a huge Angry Birds fan was possibly getting a bird fashioned after him. Well that is sort of what happened. Actually Slash made a new theme song for Angry Birds Space after Rovio found out that the guitarist is a big fan of the franchise and asked him to get involved.
Glu Mobile has brought a second game to Google Play today and this time it is the Samurai vs Zombies Defense 2 game we talked about yesterday afternoon. For those that missed yesterday’s article, this is the sequel to the original game which is also available on Google Play. While keeping to the core mechanics of the original, this sequel brings with it two additional warriors: the Kunoichi Assassin and Armored Ronin.
Book of Heroes is a relatively interesting game, but one that is hamstrung by a typical grind that continues to perplex me the more I see titles that offer the same. No goal in any game is interesting enough for me to spend time going over the same activity for hours at a time, and no piece of loot is worth feeling like I’m clocking in for an actual job instead of enjoying a game. In this particular case, the Book of Heroes grind is what I refer to as “soft”, or an easy-going grind that doesn’t feel as bad as it really is. Even with the easier grind the repeated content begins to take away from the fun of the game, and there are some really cool features.
Back in January of this year Glu Mobile announced that a sequel to Gun Bros would be heading our way at some point in the relatively near future. It seems as though today is that future as Gun Bros 2 has made its way quietly onto the Google Play store and this time the game comes with multiplayer right at launch instead of in a future update like with the original game.
DeNA has sent us word that they will be hosting two major raid boss events in two of their games this week and it will be all about the dragons… big dragons. Both Hellfire and D.O.T. Defender of Texel will be getting a raid boss event where players will have to deal with dragons in one way or another. However, with great risk comes great rewards.
Electronic Arts earlier this week made a statement that all future games would come with built-in microtransactions which the entire gaming industry took as being PC and console games. It’s not a far leap to come to that conclusion after EA recently included optional microtransactions in their new Dead Space 3 game. Well EA has come out to clarify their previous statement to calm all of the console and PC gamers out there. Unfortunately, it’ll probably anger all the mobile gamers instead.
It has been one year since the Android Market officially changed names to the current Google Play label we are using now. To celebrate the new official name turning one year old, Google has teamed up with a variety of developers to offer up a bunch of apps, movies, books and other goodies on sale as well as a bunch of free apps and games also.
Gamelion has been working on a few games as of late and one of those games happens to be Rage of the Gladiator. Originally released onto the Nintendo Wii, we actually talked about Rage of the Gladiator heading our way back in October of last year and now we finally get to dive into the brutal world of gladiators beating the crap out of each other.

Temple Run: Oz was released onto iOS yesterday and the Android version we figured would be released any day now.
