With the upcoming (eventual) release of Final Fantasy IV for Android, I decided it’d be a good time to write up a review for Final Fantasy III. Final Fantasy III has been one of my all-time favorites in the series since the original NES release was translated in the emulation community. It set the ground for the class change system from Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and every other game in the series since that gave you the ability to change your character’s class.
It seems like OUYA news always comes in clumps lately and today is no different as we have a few bits of information regarding the Android powered console to go over. First, for those of you who haven’t pre-ordered a unit yet, you can now do so off of Amazon.com and GameStop.com instead of just through the OUYA website.
Yesterday we reported on a new game coming from EA called The Simpsons: Tapped Out which has been a rather popular game over on iOS since its release over there. The weird thing yesterday was that even though it was available on Google Play on EA International’s account, almost no one was able to download it. On top of that there isn’t even a North American version right now.
HTC and Sony are teaming up this month to give away free Android games for those of you who use Playstation Mobile which happens to be available on select HTC devices. If you happen to own one of these Playstation Certified HTC devices, you’ll be able to take advantage of this promotion and score a few free games this month.
Crescent Moon Games released their popular full-sized 3D Action-RPG Aralon: Sword and Shadow onto Android but there was a bit of a catch to the release. The game was launched onto the Amazon AppStore and only there. While this isn’t a huge issue, it did stop anyone without access to the Amazon AppStore from being able to purchase this game.
Zen Studios has announced that they will soon be releasing a new series of tables for their Zen Pinball platform themed around the Star Wars universe. For the purists out there, this new collection of tables have been ‘developed with authentic Star Wars moments’ with each table featuring a different iconic moment from the Star Wars universe and interactive 3D characters.
Release a game onto Google Play but don’t let anyone download it right away. That little scenario has happened a few times in the past with other games such as Avengers Initiative which sat on the Google Play store dormant for a couple of months, with not a single person able to download it. Well EA has released The Simpsons: Tapped Out onto Android finally but no one seems to be able to actually download it just yet.
The Wild Kingdoms is a new unique and intriguing board / card game where you can battle people globally through the online multiplayer feature or skirmish against each other using one device. Set in the Yoruba Kingdoms, your job is to build armies of creatures, control the forces of nature, and use magical charms against your opponents.
Rooted users have had the privilege to back-up all their games’ progress using apps such as Titanium Backup and My Backup. Now, ClockworkMod allows non-rooted users to join in the fun as well with the release of their new app called Carbon (not to be confused with the equally recent Twitter client sharing the same name).
