Up until now we have had a total of five Humble Bundles for Android (a.k.a Humble Bundle with Android) but the games that came with those bundles also allowed people who purchased them to get a copy of the game for their PC or Mac as well as soundtracks whenever either was available. This new bundle however is strictly Android games and nothing else.
Back in October of last year we talked about a rather cool and unique retro-style RPG called Knights of Pen & Paper. This game allowed players to not only create their character and explore a fantasy world but also allows for players to act as the dungeon master within the game itself, sort of like a tablet top RPG but in digital form with pixel art.
Herocraft has released a new game called Strategy & Tactics: World War II onto the Google Play store. This particular game is similar to RISK or Axis & Allies for those of you who have played either board game before. Indie developers who are working on their games and want to have their next title available on Playstation platforms have a little bit more flexibility now as Sony will allow for game to be sold to customers even if the title is in an Alpha stage of development. Normally buying into a game that is in an alpha stage wouldn’t be something people would normally want to do, say 10 years ago or even 7 years ago, but now it’s a more widely accepted practice, especially after the success of Minecraft.
The second day of GDC 2013 is starting and to kick things off Verizon has announced that they will be pre-loading a games portal style application onto future Android phones that are on the carrier. Qualcomm’s in-house game development studio called Snapdragon Game Studio has released a follow-up to their Reign of Amir game called Reign of Amir: The Lost Kingdom. As you are probably guessing, this follow-up title is also exclusive to Android devices with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 (or better) chipsets inside them.
There is an interesting new game out on Google Play called Spider: Secret of Bryce Manor. This game, which was developed by Tiger Style, blends an adventure game with that of an action-puzzle title to form a rather unique hybrid of a game. In this game, you’ll be playing as a rather inquisitive spider who, while trying to get himself a meal, stumbles onto an abandon mansion.
