The other day EA announced that it would be bringing Command & Conquer to mobile and browser gamers. However, it isn’t the standard format of C&C RTS gaming that you are used to as this will be the series’ first MMORTS title and will launch with cross-platform multiplayer functionality.
So far we have talked about playing Shadowgun using the DroidMote apps in conjunction with a tablet and phone, then the DroidMote getting Xperia Play support. Now this versitile little application can let you play OnLive games on an Android tablet while using your Android phone as a game controller.
There are plenty of retro-style racing games we would like to see land on the Android Market, perhaps with a bit of a facelift to bring it a bit more into the modern times but still keeping that retro edge that makes old games still fun to play even today. One such game that is trying to accomplish this is Turbo Racer.
We have known for awhile that Scrubs was coming to Android courtesy of Herocraft and for those of you waiting to play the game, the wait is finally over and Scrubs is now available on the Android Market for download. Interestingly enough this game blends quite a few styles of gaming into one title.
We have been playing Grand Theft Auto III for mobile for about a week now and so we have had plenty of face time with the uncensored bat swinging car thief game. So with the high expectations one could put on a company like Rockstar Games, did we walk away from this hit game ported to Android impressed?
Big Blue Bubble, developers of Burn The Rope and other fun games, have released another title we mentioned would be on it’s way to Android in November. Although slightly late on release, Dark Incursion is a great retro-style Steampunk themed side-scrolling hack n; slash game for Android. It can also make use of those old 3D glasses you may have laying around.
It’s been awhile since we talked about Capcom’s signature fighting series Street Fighter and that it would be coming to Android, a few months at least. Well it’s starting to look like it is on it’s way and Capcom, partnering up with LG, are hosting a tournament to celebrate the launching of Street Fighter IV HD.
This morning we have a bit of a surprise on the Android Market thanks to EA and their sci-fi horror shooter Dead Space which is now available on selected Android devices today. Previously this title has remained as an Xperia Play exclusive for quite some time but now it has dropped the exclusivity.
For those unfamiliar with Indie developer Vector Unit, you might have come across their popular Android title, Riptide, GP (read our review here) and recently released Shine Runner (review here) which introduced gamers to realistic racing in incredible water physics. While starting out on consoles, Vector Unit brought the same hard hitting quality and fun gameplay to our devices.
