It’s no secret that Square Enix has plans to make a big push into the Android Market after a slew of announced titles back during the Tokyo Game show that happened recently. Today they have officially announced their Android store for their Android games which will debut in Japan.
There is a new game coming to Android from Red Fly Studios called Inertia: Escape Velocity which is a physics-based action platformer. You will be use the game’s unique gameplay mechanic to manipulate gravity in order to float and glide through each level, navigating around force fields, barriers, and other obstacles, while collecting space debris for points.
Don’t let the cute header image fool you, Planet Wars is a pretty solid real-time strategy game that has just arrived on Android from developers IMakeGames. Set in a space theme, the point of the game is to expands your nation, conquer new planets and defeat your enemies who get in your way.
Well this is some gaming news on a different level. PerBlue, the developers of the location-based MMORPG for mobile called Parallel Kingdom, is allowing players to buy two special hats using food from in-game which will then be used to buy actual meals for those families in need this Thanksgiving.
A new physics-based puzzle game has landed on the Android Market today from developers Red Piston called Banzai Blowfish. Combining the platform gaming genre with Angry Birds mechanics, Banzai Blowfish is sort of like Sprinkle but you’re shooting your samurai blowfish around.
Naoplay has announced their upcoming game which will be released on both Android and iOS called MetroJoust. This new game will be jousting like the medieval times except it will be in modern day, on moving vehicles like motorcycles and scooters.
We’ve had an idea this was coming to Android soon and now EA has finally gone ahead and released The Game of Life onto the Android Market. The classic board game has been brought to Android in a 3D environment and features everything you would expect from the actual board game.
At some point in your life you have probably played Asteroids or a game that is based off of the arcade classic. People have been asking us to check a game called Asteroid 2012 3D and so we finally have. What can we say? It’s a well done remake of the classic wrapped in some pretty nice 3D visuals.
So today is a big day for Minecraft in all of it’s forms but mostly regarding console and PC as the first MineCon ever is slated to kick off today in a couple of hours. Aside from the official release of Minecraft minus the Beta tag is slated for today, there is going to be plenty of other Minecraft news as well.
Gameloft has announced that they are giving a few titles away today for free but there is a catch. To get the free games you have to be an owner of an Acer Icnoia A500 or A501 tablet. For those of you who don’t know about these tablets, it’s a Tegra dual-core Honeycomb tablet from Acer who is also gearing up to release the rumored A700 and A701 Tegra 3 tablets early next year.
