As a fan of the Catan board game, this app is one that I have been looking forward to. Soon after it first came out, there was a lot chatter online about what is wrong with the app, lack of features…this definitely peaked my interested. Well I got a copy and have been giving it a run.
A new naval game for Android is currently being developed by Bane Games called Battle Group. This is a 2D naval warfare game where you’ll control your ships and attack your enemies with your ships. Since you’ll have multiple ships there will be plenty of strategy involved as well.
Another mobile game developer coming from Finland is gearing up to release another game onto the Android Market called Splot. Frozenbyte has let it be known that they plan to bring this neat little platformer game over to Android in the next month or two.
There’s a PC game out there called Icebreakers by Xibalba Studios which actually came out this past April. In Icebreakers, you are playing a kart racing-style game except you will be using fancy sleds with steering wheels while you race through courses of snow and ice.
You may remember about a month and a half ago we reported on a neat feature that would be coming to the LG Optimus 3D which would allow you to convert 2D games into 3D games if they were made using OpenGL graphics. LG has released more information about this ahead of IFA.
EA has just released a free version of Tetris, the official Tetris that is and not any sort of slight variant version that you can find on the Android Market by searching for Tetris. However, by releasing this free version, EA has almost made the paid versions pointless.
Triandro was a game sent to us last year for review. It sat around on my phone until today before I opened it. I found two things out about this game quickly: it’s complicated and I’m still bad at it after 3 hours of play.
HTC and T-Mobiles Sensation 4G has launched. Running Sense 3.0, the phone sports HTC’s most modern software with the Qualcomm 1.2 GHz dual core chip with Adreno 220 graphics, meaning less lag in game and out. Read past the break for the full review.
Kajak Games has an interesting little course they hold with University of Kajaani students in Finland. They take sixty students and, over the time of the course, develop games while teaching game development. This year they included mobile games and now you can expect three new games heading our way.
