Gameloft likes to do sales and promotions and recently, over the past few months, have really stepped up the amount of promotions they have been doing. The newest one is set to arrive this weekend in the form of free games for your supported Android device.
Fans of FPS type games, especially those from back in the day, are in for a treat as MachineWorks has partnered up with TapJoy to bring Duke Nukem 3D to Android. MachineWorks has tapped into TapJoy’s $5million dollar developer fund to develop Duke Nukem 3D for Android.
Mediocre’s rather popular physics-based puzzle game, Sprinkle, just received and update for those of you looking for some new content to play in case you’ve already finished all the levels it currently has. Aside from that though, there are some new little tweaks to the game as well.
Back during the Summer we reported on online game rental service, WildTangent, and that it would be teaming up with T-Mobile in order to provide Android users on T-Mobile the ability to rent games for cheap. The service has now started rolling out and is now available for users to try out.
There’s a new time management game out on the Android Market called Pretty Pet Tycoon and while the title would suggest some sort of pet management type of theme, it’s actually about farming fruit. It does, however, come with a Halloween theme as well.
Glu Mobile is gearing up to release a sequel to their rather popular game called Contract Killer. This sequel, called Contract Killer: Zombies, brings the same hitman style gameplay found in the original game but this time instead of going after criminals and other contracts you are hired to do, you’ll be dealing with Zombies.
Back in June we reported on the fact that Replay Games would be bringing the original Leisure Suit Larry: Land of the Lounge lizards game to Android. Well work has already started on bringing that title to the Android platform but Replay Games has managed to secure the rights to the entire series of games now.
There is a new game on the Android Market that came out Oct. 1st called Mars Defender: Space RPG and although it states RPG in the title of the game, it actually also blends in a great deal of arcade space shooting fun typically found in arcade games.
While normally we don’t usually post about games ‘probably’ coming to Android too often, Botanicula by Dev Amanita is an interesting point-and-click exploration game that, even though it’s probably coming to Android (and iOS), we are hoping it actually does make that jump.
Right now we are nearing the release of two new chipsets for Android devices, both of which are quad-core. Qualcomm S4 is slated for release sometime in 2012 while nVidia’s Kal-El (Tegra 3) Chipset will start appearing in tablets within the next couple of month while phones will start appearing in Q1 2012.
