Sheep Impact Review – Save the Sheep from dynamite, lasers and more!

A new game has hit the market called Sheep Impact from Bang Lethal. A simple yet challenging game where your skill and timing will be tested in the hopes of saving sheep from a rather bad ending. Can you make sure that the sheep keep their skins?

Title: Sheep Impact | Developer: Bang Lethal | Genre: Arcade & Action | Players: 1 | Version: 1.5 | Size: 4.5 MB | Price: $0.99 |

Sheep Impact has a simple premise to it – save a certain number of sheep per level. How do you save them? With your balloon of course!  The poor little sheep are stuck on many different destructive devices – dynamite, laser guns, chain saws, batteries.  You balloon is falling down and you have to keep it afloat as it crosses the screen.   You can’t stop the balloon, simply keep it from hitting the ground which is easier said than done.

As the game is new, there is a lot of room for growth. The developers website was not even complete at the time of this writing.

There are two modes, story mode and endless play. Within story mode, there are two worlds mountains, canyons, each with 15 levels. A third world, beach is said to be coming soon. In story mode, you simply progress from one level to the next, until you reach the end. In endless play you simply try to rescue as many sheep as possible. This game setup is very similar to other games on the market today.

The graphics are good but not high resolution and the music and sounds are very minimal. On paper that might sound bad but within the game it seems to work fine. The game really is a test of your reflexes and timing. For me, it takes a while to get the hang of the timing, etc but for my kids they usually get it much quicker. Although there is not a difficulty setting within the game, the levels do vary in hardness, so do not get fooled by the cute little sheep just sitting there waiting to be rescued.

Overall this is a nice game and as I said before there is room for growth. I would like to see new worlds and levels, maybe different flying objects (other than a balloon), something like OpenFeint with online leader boards, maybe some special bonuses to allow you to slow down or speed up… just a thought.

The game comes in at $0.99 and is a game the whole family can enjoy. So if you are looking for a cute but challenging game, go save some sheep. Baaaaaaa.
