Syrious Blasts! Review – Who doesn’t like blowing stuff up?

Who doesn’t enjoy blowing stuff up? I know I do, and I also enjoy my fair share of puzzles. So when you combine puzzles with blowing stuff up, you can get a super fun game. So does this game offer up fun gaming for the $0.99 price tag? Continue on reading the review to find out, especially if you like puzzle games.

Gameplay: The goal of the game is to turn the different shaped fuses to form a constant fuse down to the mortars on the bottom. Whenever there is a fuse that is connected to the top, it turns yellow and any connecting fuses also turn yellow, and whenever there is a fuse that is connected to the mortar, it turns red along with any connecting fuses. And when you get a completely connected fuse from top to bottom it turns green and then the little flame on top lights the fuse and off goes the mortar.

There is a sense of rush though because since this is a fireworks game, you have to please the crowd, otherwise its game over. There are power-ups that allow you to score more points and please the crowd faster, and there is also a global high score rankings so you can brag to your friends how good you did.

Graphics and Sounds: The graphics are nice and clean, the fuses rotate smoothly and the little fire on top moves from fuse to fuse very cleanly. The colors are pretty good and very defined.

There is background music that constantly plays while you play. There is also sound effects when the fuse is lit and when the mortar goes off to give you that feeling that you actually lit the fuse and set the mortar off. Nothing overly fancy but enough to keep the game from getting boring quickly.

Controls: The controls are all touch screen. You navigate through the menu by touching the options, and you rotate your fuses by touching on their tiles.

Overall: This is a pretty good time waster, especially for people who like to play puzzle games casually. As an added bonus it has a free lite version for you to try out to decide whether or not you want to buy the full version. The full version will run you $0.99 as we mentioned in the beginning and is the perfect pricing point for this game. Some improvements could be made to make Syrious Blasts! a much more lasting game then it currently is though.
