Last November, we published an article here entitled “Exor Studios will be unleashing Zombie Driver THD onto Tegra 3 Android devices soon”. Well, that ‘soon’ has come, albeit belatedly almost a year later. It is slated for an October 17 launch in tandem with the game’s release on other platforms like Steam and Xbox Live Arcade.
About a week ago we announced that Ubisoft would be bringing a selection of games to Android, one of which was called Prince of Persia Classic which would be arriving September 13th, 2012. Well today is that day and sure enough Prince of Persia Classic is now on the Google Play store. This is the original Prince of Persia game, modernized with a new look and mobile controls.
A new Kickstarter campaign has recently gone live as of a couple of days ago for a new football game which was inspired by some classic titles like Tecmo Bowl. Being developed by Run Games LLC, Football Heroes is a hybrid football / beat ’em up / RPG title that will be making its way to Android devices when it launches. The Kickstarter campaign also offers some rather unique rewards for helping with the funding for the game.
The other week when we posted about Square Enix’s upcoming Tokyo Game Show line-up, there were a couple of the games listed that were originally coming to Android in a worldwide release were suddenly labeled as Japan-only releases. Apparently now we are back to having a worldwide release for their upcoming Unreal Engine built rhythm-based action game Demon’s Score. Along with this news, we now know a little bit more about what composers will be on there and also have a new trailer to show.
Fans of continuous running games have yet another one to download and play, this time set in an arctic theme and featuring a penguin who is doing the running. Developed by Supersolid, Super Penguins is a new 3D running game where your little penguin who is running, endlessly, collecting gold fish along the way.
Back in April of this year we talked about a new Action-RPG game heading our way from Spicy Horse Games called Akaneiro: Demon Hunters. Since then the game has been under heavy development with details about the game being kept on the down low. Now, not only are beta signups now live for Akaneiro: Demon Hunters but we also have the first gameplay video showing off this rather excellent looking game.
A new side-scrolling action game has arrived on Android from the creator of Capcom’s hit platformer series Mega Man called J.J. Rockets. This game, which looks like it takes a lot of influence from Mega Man which isn’t surprising, has you playing as the President of the United States who puts on a costume and becomes a superhero when the need arises.
Every wonder what it would be like to be existing as bacteria and not a human? Me neither but now we get to have a glimpse into that world in a new platformer called Jellyflug. Developed by Troll Inc, this is their first game on Android and Jellyflug so far has done quite well for itself over on iOS.
There really isn’t a whole lot of games that could be classified as a rhythm action game on Android, or for mobile in general. However Pixel Punch has developed a title that fits nicely into that category of gaming called Music Samurai, where you get to play a rhythm action game as a samurai, slicing up people while you run.
A little over a year ago we reported on a game that would be heading our way called Demolition Dash. Developed by Dreamfab, this game was slated to be released onto Android very soon back when we originally reported on it but after our report, everything went silent about the game’s release onto Android.
