Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is also now available for Nvidia Shield devices using GeForce Now
A few days ago we reported on Square Enix and Nvidia basically teaming up to bring a few of Square Enix’s other games over to Shield devices. In that announcement four games were mentioned, although more titles were hinted, all of which were labeled as coming soon. Well one of those games, the critically-acclaimed action puzzle game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, is now available for Shield devices via GeForce Now.
Shield owners with a GeForce Now membership can now stream SOMA, the latest terrifying creation from Frictional Games, the masters of psychological horror. Readers who have played any of their previous Penumbra or Amnesia titles will know exactly what we’re talking about here, but let’s clarify things for those who don’t.
Nvidia’s Shield Android TV is now having Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolling out to it with new update
While owners of the original Shield tablet are waiting on their Marshmallow update to become available again after it was pulled because of a nasty Wi-Fi related bug, owners of Nvidia’s Shield Android TV units are now having their Marshmallow goodies rolling out to them in a new update starting today.
Square Enix and Nvidia are teaming up for a number of releases in the near future on GeForce Now
In other Nvidia GeForce Now news, Tomb Raider isn’t the only Square Enix title being released on Nvidia’s game streaming service, as both companies have announced additional titles heading our way. While only four titles were specifically mentioned, those four titles were pretty big names and Square Enix is stated that there will be even more than those four.
Nvidia just launched Tomb Raider (2013) onto their cloud-based streaming service GeForce Now, and it’s available for GeForce Now members to play for free on their Shield device of choice. In other words, it isn’t one of those games you can purchase at a premium price on GeForce Now.
Feeling Winter-weary? February’s a short month, even though 2016 is a leap year. Don’t let that get you down though: Think of it as one more day that’s ideal for staying indoors and playing some great video games. Speaking of which, Nvidia is starting another game sale today.
Adventure game fans, take note: One of the genre’s best specimens, Grim Fandango Remastered, is now available on Nvidia’s Shield family of devices including the Shield Android TV via Nvidia’s cloud-based game streaming service GeForce Now.
Nvidia, maker of a the Shield Android TV unit, Shield tablet, and the Shield Portable, also offer games that take direct advantage of their hardware, either linking to Google Play, or offering them through their own through streaming service called GeForce Now. With the latter, any purchase of premium priced games from there is also accompanied by a Steam code, for offline play. Through the end of this month, there’s a small group of games that NVidia has placed on sale.
