Nvidia’s gaming-on-demand service called GRID is now known as GeForce Now. Subscription service launches tomorrow.

If you own an Nvidia Shield branded device then you have probably at one point or another at least tried Nvidia GRID, which is the company’s cloud-based gaming-on-demand service. This is where Shield device owners can play PC or console games on their Shield device, without having to install them since it is through the cloud. Basically it is OnLive but better since it actually works well on mobile devices.

[TwitchCon 2015] Twitch announces direct video uploads and VOD are on the way

We have been saying a lot recently that the streaming war is going to heat up and today during Twitch’s keynote speech during the first TwitchCon event, the company announced that direct uploads and a true VOD feature will be arriving soon. This takes aim directly at YouTube who recently went after Twitch by launching YouTube Gaming, a streaming platform for game broadcasters that also allows direct uploads and VODs already.

The Twitch app gets updated with Push Notifications for Broadcasters. The TwitchCon App is also now available.

Twitch’s first ever convention is drawing closer and closer each day and with that there is a lot of news coming out with what will be taking place during the event. Needless to say, there will be a lot going on. Luckily, if you are attending TwitchCon 2015, Twitch has an app to help you out. On top of that, the company has released an update for their Twitch app which bring a much requested feature to it: Push Notifications for Broadcasters.

Nintendo has a job opening for a Mobile Games Developer position

Looks like Nintendo is starting to go full swing into their plans to bring some of their franchises to mobile devices soon as the company has posted a new job listing for a Mobile Games Developer position. Thanks to an agreement between Nintendo and DeNA, we will soon be getting some Nintendo franchises to play on our Android devices. Although, if you’ve been following our coverage about the whole partnership, Nintendo hasn’t really revealed what games will be coming to mobile, nor have they mentioned what franchises those will end up being a part of.

DeNA has launched their own live streaming platform called Mirrativ, currently in beta form

It looks like the live streaming platforms wars may be starting to heat up. Right now there is Twitch, the newly launched YouTube Gaming, MobCrush (currently in beta for iOS, coming to Android soon), and now there is Mirrativ from DeNA (beta on Android, coming soon to iOS). Mirrativ is now considered in open beta although there are certainly times that streaming is allowed right now. When it fully launched though, you will be able to stream whenever you want.
