It is time once again for another Weekend Play Game Review. Weekend Play articles give Droid Gamers an opportunity to highlight some games that may have been overlooked in a busy week of game releases. Some of the games may have been released a couple of weeks ago, but they still merit reviewing, so you can have an opportunity to catch up on some good gaming during your weekend. Today’s game is Skyward. It is another one-touch button game, that is visually impressive, challenging, and worth your valuable time to check out this weekend.

There is a lot of talk lately that Rovio is having a less then stellar time right now with revenue. Many sites including ours have reported on it and it is basically due to the fact that you can only do so much with a franchise like Angry Birds before it gets tired and old. The company has relied so heavily on that franchise that it is now seeing less money than it has in some time. Of course they are still making a lot of money, just not as much as they used to make.
Usually when we do our Android Game Sales round-ups the mid-week one and the final Friday round-up are, for the most part, pretty different. However once in a rare while it actually ends up being mostly the same. This is actually the case with this week except there are a few changes.
Originally released back in 1982, Q*Bert has been around for a very long time on a number of platforms including good old fashion arcades as well. Back in July 2014 it was announced that a reboot would be coming to mobile where Q*Bert would be getting a facelift for the times. That facelift has happened and Q*Bert Rebooted is now available on Google Play.

The Frogger inspired game Crossy Road has been out on mobile devices for 20 days and in that short period of time the game has managed to make some pretty impressive numbers. Because of the numbers Crossy Road is producing, there are plenty of spin-offs and similar games out now as people try to ride the momentum Crossy Road has created. Even with all of that, Crossy Road has broken the 10 million downloads mark and did it within 20 days of being released.
The sequel to the popular Gunman Clive game lands on the Nintendo 3DS this week and while that is all great and dandy for those of you who own a 3DS, it isn’t that great for everyone else in the mobile gaming world who enjoyed the first game. However it looks like there is a silver lining to the cloud that is Gunman Clive 2 as the developer Bertil Hoerberg has mentioned that he has plans to port the sequel to other platforms although this isn’t 100% confirmed yet. In other words he wants to, he plans on it, but things could change.
The ridiculously addictive… and strange… Goat Simulator has received an update that brings quite a bit of new content to the game including a whole new city to cause havoc in. Say hello to your new stomping ground called Goat City Bay! This is certainly not the only addition to the game though.
On paper there’s a lot to like about Immersive Douro’s new action game Johnny Scraps: Clash of Dimensions. It looks like a wild beat ‘em up set in different timelines throughout history. On paper it sounds like the perfect way to waste a few minutes on the bus. On paper.
As promised we’ve returned with another list from the shamelessly tacky to the tackily shameless. This is the second collection of all the console imitators available for the Android. While some are amazing stand out games on their own, it’s impossible to ignore their source material.
