Nitrome has been in the news a lot lately with the release of a few games onto Android already and the developer doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon with the announcement of Gunbrick coming to mobile devices next. Gunbrick is an arcade platformer which also features Nitrome’s rather good pixel art.

The rather fun and humor-filled game Crossy Roads has made the journey from Amazon’s Appstore over to Google Play today. Originally released on December 15th, 2014 as a short-term exclusive on Amazon, Crossy Roads is now available on Google Play for those of you who don’t like or can’t use Amazon’s Appstore or own a Kindle device.
Thanks to games like Flappy Birds there has been quite the movement of games that are simple to play but extremely challenging to survive for long periods of time in. Whether it be you trying to keep a bird flying through obstacles for as long as possible or some other method of movement through hazards and dying relentlessly whenever you touch one, these games do make for great time killers and are usually pretty enjoyable to play.
If there is one thing you can count on for with Gameloft, it is the fact that they will always be one of the first developers to optimize their games for any new upcoming gaming hardware or platforms based off of Android that look promising. Whether it was the Ouya console or the GameStick, they usually have a few games announced as ready to go for that particular platform’s release.
While we can expect a few Sonic the Hedgehog themed games heading to mobile throughout the 2015 year, we do know of one already that is in the works called Sonic Runners which will be coming from Sonic Team. The game was formally announced by Sega producer Takashi Iizuka at a recent Sonic fan event in Tokyo.
Today the Samsung Gead VR headset has gotten three additional games and applications added for it on the Oculus Rift store. To be more specific, there is one new game and two new applications, both of which are something you’ll want to download for your headset.
Star Wars The Force Awakens is less than a year away. A new aerial combat game Sky Gamblers: Storm Raiders from Atypical Games has flown its way onto Google Play. Is this part of the Sky Gamblers franchise that has been published by Bandai Namco up until now? It appears to be and this is actually Atypical Games’ second title in this franchise to be released, the first being Sky Gamblers: Cold War (iOS only right now).
Chickenrun Xmas Present Edition is a new free holiday version of a currently existing Chickenrun game that is simple and addictive. While this game starts off fairly easy, it quickly gets a lot more challenging when it comes to actually staying alive.
So, it’s a new week, and we have a fresh Humble Mobile Bundle, this time featuring games from Noodlecake Studios. As someone who is usually a fan of the games they generally publish I was a bit excited about this one. Did that excitement hold up?
