Qualcomm has announced that they are selling off their augmented reality business called Vuforia for a cool $65 million. Unfortunately, if you were planning to head to the bank right now to withdraw $65 million to purchase Vuforia, it has already been purchased by PTC.

A little under a week ago we reported on a pretty cool looking Augmented Reality game called Clandestine: Anomaly. While we had a trailer to show, that video really didn’t have any gameplay to take a look at. Well the developers have released a new video which is pretty much only gameplay, so now everyone can see what that actually looks like.
Augmented Reality games can be pretty fun and there is an award-winning one heading our way soon. Developed by ZenFri, and co-written by Gears of War 2 writer Joshua Ortega, Clandestine: Anomaly will be launching onto mobile devices starting this month. This is an alternate-reality science fiction adventure where an alien spaceship crash lands in your neighborhood, narrowly missing your house.
So over the past day the DroidLanding Twitter account became active once again and as of yesterday had been teasing an augmented reality game that is tied to this year’s promotion that the DroidLanding Twitter account is doing. The game, called D:Com, is on Google Play but isn’t available for download just yet. However a leaked version of the game is now available today.
Capcom is gearing up to release the newest addition to the Resident Evil franchise called Operation Raccoon City and to celebrate the impending launch, Capcom will be overrunning the UK with zombies in a new augmented reality game coming to Android called Operation Raccoon City – UK Takeover.

Today Qualcomm has taken the leap and launched their Augmented Reality Platform for Android. Last year it was released in beta form for developers to play around with and develop apps/games for the developers challenge. Now it is available in non-beta form for developers to actually release apps and games commercially.
Qualcomm has announced the release of it’s beta software for augmented reality development regarding Android games as well as applications. Regarding game development, the new AR extension for Unity 3D will help developers create games with augmented reality features much more quickly when used in conjunction with their other tools.
