Android, like most things in life, has its fair share of ups and downs. Being an ‘open’ platform, there is a lot that can be done with an Android phone or tablet right out of the box. The same cannot be said of iOS and Windows Phone devices, which are ‘closed’ for the most part, and therefore the user’s ability to customize and what-not is severely limited.
One of the more anticipated racing games heading our way right now happens to be coming from Electronic Arts, who will be publishing the game when it’s ready. Developed by Firemonkeys, which is the new development studio under EA that was formed when Firemint and Iron Monkeys joined forces, Real Racing 3 looks to be quite the impressive racing game.
As with all things technology based, we tend to see sizes get smaller and smaller as technology advances. This holds true for cellphones that, at one point, were bigger than a brick but are now nice little smartphones that fit in our pocket. Even the upcoming Android powered OUYA game console is the size of a Rubik’s Cube. Now game controllers are going that way as well, at least when it comes to mobile gaming. Let’s meet the iMpulse Controller, a game controller that is the size of a keyring.
A couple of weeks ago we brought you news about Ubisoft who have a few games heading our way over the next few weeks. One of those games have already been released, Prince of Persia Classic, while another one which was slated for release today is called Rayman Jungle Run. Unfortunately this new Rayman game has been delayed for about a week, with a new release date of September 27th.
It has been a few months since we announced Spacetime Studios next title in their series of MMORPGs called Arcane Legends. While details have remained pretty hush hush for the most part, back then we at least knew that Spacetime Studios would be taking the best mechanics out of their previous Legends games and combining them into Arcane Legends. We now know a little bit more about this new MMORPG and have a few more screenshots to check out.
Spacetime Studios space themed MMORPG called Star Legends has received a new content update that brings with it a few new features and, of course, some new content as well. For those of you who play the game on a regular basis, you’ll be happy to know that the level cap has been raised to 46.
A new game has popped up on Tegra Zone a few days ago called The Bard’s Tale which is a new game ‘inspired’ by the classic adventure RPG series from the golden days of the Apple II computers in 1985. For those of you unfamiliar with the series, this particular series of games set itself apart from other ones in its genre due to the rather large amounts of humor that was included into the game.
The hype of The Avengers since the release of the movie has continued to remain strong, giving the mobile gaming world an Infinity Blade style game for Android and iOS, although the Android version is still waiting on being released, and now we have a new Avengers pinball table for those of you who play on Zen Studios’ pinball platform called Zen Pinball.
One of the more recent and big announcements coming from the Sony camp is the re-branding of the Playstation store and suite which is now called Playstation Mobile as one whole entity. For those of you who already have access to it, which I believe is in select locations in Europe although I could be wrong, the rest of the world will finally be joining you on October 3rd, 2012. This is when Sony will be rolling out the worldwide launch of Playstation Mobile for Playstation Certified Android devices and the PS Vita.
The free version of Ubisoft’s rather popular defense game called Babel Rising 3D, which was developed in partnership with AMA and Mando Productions, has received an update that brings with it new human units to smite and new obstacles to overcome. Something that shouldn’t be too hard to handle since you are a god after all.
