[UPDATE: Game Released] Hands-on with the upcoming hack n’ slash RPG Angel Stone

On the weekend that just passed, the Action-RPG title that’s currently in development for mobile devices called Angel Stone went into a short closed beta period. If you managed to sign up for it, then there was a good chance you ended up being able to play the game. The closed beta period only lasted three days (Friday-Sunday) so people participating in it had to stuff as much gameplay time into it that they could in those three days.

[Update: Released] Rejoice ye Angry Birds fans! Rovio shall be bringing us thy sequel you’ve always wanted: Angry Birds 2

So Rovio has announced that an official sequel to Angry Birds will be arriving at the end of this month. That’s right Angry Bird fans, you will soon be able to download Angry Birds 2 on July 30th. The announcement originally came via a Tweet (followed by an official blog post) from the official Angry Birds account with a statement of “Bigger. Badder. Birdier. July 30th”. Accompanying the statement was a giant number 2 image with a very angry looking red bird inside the two.

Razer steps up and offers developers with games on Ouya a new deal

Yesterday we reported on the fact that Ouya basically owes a decent amount of developers a fair amount of money from their Free The Games fund. Because of the deal that went through with Ouya being bought out by Razer, a lot of those developers who qualified for that million dollar fund would not be getting their money. Well that was the case but now things have changed thanks to Razer stepping up to the plate, offering developers a new deal.

The Cocos2d v3.7 update is now available, merges Cocos2d-JS into Cocos2d-x

Chukong Technologies has announced that Cocos2d-JS has merged into Cocos2d-x to form Voltron… er… the new Cocos2d v3.7 update which is now available for download. For those of you not familiar with Cocos, this is basically one of the largest and most popular game development engines for mobile games. According to Chukong Technologies, Cocos now has over 490,000 registered mobile game developers and over 16,000 published titles.
