The Big Indie Pitch is coming and will be at GDC 2015. Pitch your game, get judged, and possibly win prizes!
Steel Media regularly holds indie Pitch events throughout the year. These are events where developers can pitch a game they are currently developing, to a panel of judges. If you are in the top three then you win various prizes that are meant to help you out with your game’s launch. However, a few times a year there are also Big Indie Pitch events and these are much bigger versions of the regular indie pitches. This means the prizes are also bigger.
As one of the few official media partners for the IMGA (International Mobile Gaming Awards) we get to report and partake in all the goodness that these awards offer. With this being the 11th International Mobile Gaming Awards, and all the recent releases of some top quality games, this list of nominees is pretty impressive to say the least.
During our announcement the other day about our upcoming Charity stream we also mentioned that we have a couple of Nvidia Shield Tablet packages to giveaway. One of these will be given away during our Charity live stream on TwitchTV which will be happening in the next few days. Here at DroidGamers we are always looking to do different and unique things with Android gaming. We’ve ran our own competitions already and there have been a few instances in the past where other companies have ran their own as well including Major League Gaming. However, if Android gaming were to actually break into the eSports scene on a more serious level, it would be interesting to see what games people would like to be able to compete in.
Over the last couple of weeks since we announced that we are looking for writers, we’ve been going through each and every application that was sent into us. The response was, to say the least, overwhelming. This is a good thing because we had a lot of qualified applicants submit their emails of interest in writing for the site. This was also a difficult thing because we actually had to make a decision on who to take on as new writers.
Important job opening update, Mecha indie Android store developer registration now open and more
Last week we posted an open invitation for anyone interested in getting in on becoming a part of the DroidGamers team as a nighttime / weekend writer to submit their applications via email. Needless to say there was a huge response to this. In fact there were so many applications submitted for the two positions that we had announced as being available that we’ve decided to make five opening available instead of just two.
As many of you may have noticed DroidGamers was down for roughly 34 hours starting Monday morning and ending with us coming back online late yesterday afternoon. Many of you are probably wondering what the hell happened but rest assured it was nothing bad, more like bad timing as we are preparing to open up the Mecha store.
DroidGamers Spring Charity Time – We’re giving back to everyone through March and April starting with Child’s Play Charity
Here’s at DroidGamers we focuses as much as we can to give back to the community, whether it be giveaways or other freebies to our readers. This is a year-round thing that we do but we wanted to take it a step further and pick a charity that we would like to make a yearly event over. When it comes to the video game industry, Child’s Play is the leading charity most companies, industry personalities and everyone in between tend to contribute to.
