Gameloft and MLG have teamed up once again for another mobile gaming tournament with over $5,000 up for grabs. The first time they did this it was with Modern Combat 3 after it came out for both platforms. Now this new tournament will be for N.O.V.A. 3 players.
For those of you unfamiliar with what e-sports happens to be, it is essentially professional gaming. These are tournaments played on both console and PC for cash prizes, usually rather large ones. Games such as Call of Duty, StarCraft and so on are played regularly in the e-sport circuit through many of the different tournament companies like MLG (Major League Gaming) and WCG (World Cyber Games).
If you still have your doubts about gaming on Android having the potential to dominate the mobile gaming arena then perhaps you haven’t heard about the Samsung Mobile Challenge (or SMC for short). While we were busy hosting the first ever Android Gaming Challenge, WCG was gearing up for their tournament which features none other then a Samsung Galaxy S phone.
We just wrapped up the first ever Android Gaming Challenge which was not only dubbed the first of it’s kind for the Android platform but some reports labeled it as the first of it’s kind of mobile gaming in general! The response? Massive. With over 400+ initial participants and media coverage on just about every major Android website (fantastic Android community support) and some technology/mobile news sites, the first AGC was a great success.
We’ve been teasing everyone about the prizes for AGC1 and we let out that one was to be a free new Android phone. However that certainly isn’t the end of the list!
