Have a Google Music subscription? If you do then you get a discount on buying games, movies and more.
An interesting bit of news today that one of our readers stumbled upon. We are not exactly sure when this started, although it had to be pretty recently, but if you have a Google Music subscription, you will receive a discount when purchasing a game. Razer’s set-top box that has a focus on multi-media entertainment, and especially with gaming, has had its status changed to no longer available for purchase on the Google Store. If you’ve been using Android since it was released, you may remember a long time ago a few applications popping up that were ridiculously priced, ranging from $99-$200. We’re not sure what happened to those but we do know the average pricing of apps and games on Google Play is between $0-$5, with a decent amount being $5+ but rarely over $10. Square Enix, of course, is one of those exceptions to the rule, with games regularly priced at $10-$15.

Recently Google did that corporate restructuring of all their companies, creating a new top-tier company called Alphabet. When that happened, Niantic Labs actually was removed from being owned by Google, becoming their own true entity. Today the Ingress developer has announced that they have received funding to the tune of $30 million from Google, The Pokemon Company, and Nintendo. It is a pretty interesting mix.
