Over the last couple of weeks since we announced that we are looking for writers, we’ve been going through each and every application that was sent into us. The response was, to say the least, overwhelming. This is a good thing because we had a lot of qualified applicants submit their emails of interest in writing for the site. This was also a difficult thing because we actually had to make a decision on who to take on as new writers.
In other news GREE, the world’s largest publicly traded social games company, has expanded their footing in the US by opening up a new office in San Francisco. This comes in the wake of news that the company has cleared over one billion dollar in profit this year.
You may or may not remember about a post we made a little over a month ago about Google Ventures investing in the large iOS game publisher ngmoco. We also stated that any investment made by Google, Google Ventures, Google Pancakes or whatever, regardless of how separate they are, has meaning. Well look at this…ngmoco has an Android job posting!
Recently we reported on id Software’s newest game, Rage, being previewed at QuakeCon running on an iPhone and that it would possibly be showing up for Android as well. Rage is their newest FPS title which has already received huge praise from the gaming industry including 3 awards being won at E3: Best Console Game, Best Action Game and Special Commendation for Graphics.
Well it is about that time again. We are looking for a couple more writers and anyone else who would like to contribute anything to Droid Gamers. Last week I posted our official announcement for positions needing to be filled here at Droid Gamers. The response was amazing! Shortly after making that post I had family arrive from out of town (hence the short gap in news recently) but I did go over all the applications sent in and I am please to announce the new members for Team DG.
