Recently we reported on id Software’s newest game, Rage, being previewed at QuakeCon running on an iPhone and that it would possibly be showing up for Android as well. Rage is their newest FPS title which has already received huge praise from the gaming industry including 3 awards being won at E3: Best Console Game, Best Action Game and Special Commendation for Graphics.

Recently we posted an article about major flash gaming sites and their support for the Android OS making their games available for everyone to play via their Android phone. Well another major casual gaming company just announced they are getting on board with mobile gaming and one of the platforms they will be support is…you guessed it, Android!
Flying Aces, developed by Sticky Coding, is an air traffic control style game where you control the flight paths of airplanes to ensure all of them land safely at the airport. This is a touch based game where you draw lines for the airplanes to follow and has been one of the more popular games of this genre for awhile and now…it’s gone open source!
Droidkoban, by developer Leihwelt, is a new 3D Puzzle game featuring our beloved little Android as he moves through various stages moving boxes to where they need to go in order to proceed to the next stage. All the graphics are done using OpenGL ES technology and game play is done via the trackball.
I’ve been keeping my eye on this tower defense game since it’s official (non-beta) release a little over a month ago and seen it’s popularity grow substantially. Tower Raiders GOLD (also a Black version for pre-2.0 Android devices) by Gianormous Games calls itself the best Tower Defense game for Android and they could very well be right.
