A few days ago Ouya announced that it would soon be bringing its platform to other hardware and it seems the first company to jump on board is Mad Catz with their Android-powered game console called the MOJO. Now depending on who you are and how you feel about the Ouya platform, this is either really great news or really unfortunate news.

Mad Catz releases a video guide for anyone needing a little extra help rooting their MOJO console
Mad Catz has been a pretty big advocate when it comes to rooting their Android-powered game console called the MOJO. What rooting this console does is open the possibilities up a lot more all around with using the console. It also happens to make just about everything appearing in Google Play which includes games that may be limited by mobile device.
In the world of Android devices it usually takes no time at all for a new device to get rooted. When it comes to Android consoles, this is also true and the Mad Catz MOJO game console is the newest one to be added to the list of rooted game consoles. What’s even better is that Mad Catz fully supports whether or not you want to root you console.
So as we mentioned yesterday over our social medial channels, we just received one of the first Android powered MOJO game consoles sent out for review by Mad Catz. We’ve played with an early version of Mad Catz’s Android-powered game console MOJO and have followed the news on its development since it was announced back in the Summer. Now we get to report on the fact that the console will finally be shipping out to anyone who’s pre-ordered one, just in time for the holidays as promised by the company.
The upcoming Mojo Android-powered game console by Mad Catz is nearing its official retail launch and it looks like it will be a little more appealing when it finally does go on sale thanks to Mad Catz and Nvidia working together to bring Nvidia’s GameStream technology to the console. While this feature most likely won’t make it in time for the console’s launch, it is planned for it to arrive in an update shortly afterwards.
As we near the end of this year we can expect Mad Catz to finally launch their Mojo Android-powered game console. Along with the console, Mad Catz already has a wide selection of peripherals available to use with it or any bluetooth enabled Android device. We can now add one more to the list and that being a new gaming keyboard called S.T.R.I.K.E.M.
A lot of people have had their eyes on Mad Catz who have promised to build the most powerful Android-based console that would be available when it launches. While the company has been tight lipped over the specs of the console, we did get some hands-on time with a prototype version with prototype hardware during the GameStop Expo this year.
Interview with Alex Verrey of Mad Catz: Final Mojo console design, Rooting, Peripherals and more
So during the GameStop Expo we just left the other day we had a chance to do our interview with Mad Catz in person instead of doing it through Skype or email, hence the delay in the interview getting done in the first place. We sat down with Alex Verrey, the Global PR Director for Mad Catz and Nathan Aguilera, Associate Product Manager for Mad Catz to talk about their upcoming Android-based gaming console called Mojo.
Mad Catz unveiled their entry into the Android-powered console arena during E3 2013 which is called Mojo. While the console was on display at E3 and subsequent shows for some hands-on loving, the hardware within the console itself was there was more for showing the prototype console then actually being finalized hardware for a production release.
