New Toy Inc, developers of Words with Friends for iOS and recently purchased by Zynga, are in the works porting over the hit game to Android. This will allow for cross-platform gaming of the Scrabble variety. Lots of people have been wanting this game to come to Android and even though there are similar games for Android, more people know of Words with Friends.

The ridiculously addictive game, Cestos 2: Party Time, by ChickenBrick Studios has received an update for the holidays! Among the new features coming to the holiday update is a new game mode, Race, where your goal is to tag all the correct order before your opponent does. That is not all though in this update!
David Ko is the SVP of Mobile over at Zynga and was on stage at LeWed talking about the future of mobile gaming and Zynga. Mentioning that Mafia Wars is coming to Android is one thing, mentioning it would be available this month though is another. With Poker by Zynga already on the Android Market, Mafia Wars looks to bring more Zynga to gamers.

While a lot of Android gamers won’t touch Gameloft game due to the lack of availability in the Android Market, it is still exciting to see more great titles becoming available. As I mentioned in the World of Dragons article about browser-based MMORPGs jumping into the mobile arena as one of the next trends, today an announcement was made that indeed another has made it’s way to mobile. While not the graphically pretty kind it is a great old school RPG game, called Lands of Hope, which you can now play via your Android browser.
itsmy is a mobile social game developer and gaming network featuring 80+ games people can play via your mobile browser however it was just announced that itsmy has expanded their mobile gaming engine to include every mobile device with internet access which of course includes our beloved Android OS!
World of Dragons is a browser based MMORPG that uses the FTP business model which is basically the same thing as Freemium. However this particular MMORPG has developed clients for mobile phones so users can play the game anywhere at anytime. It seems Android’s growth hasn’t been missed by the parent company, CorsairBrand, either as Android support is on its way.
It seems as though the market for 3D MMORPGs for Android is getting another player. Currently there is Vendetta Online which is making a fully interactive client for Android, Runes which is currently in limited open beta right now and we suspect the new DvideArts RPG will also be an MMO. You can now add Clockwork Runes by Bonafide Software onto this growing list now.
We have been following an MMORPG for Android that has been in development for quite some time now. While it seems as though it will always be in beta a new version was just released and includes a huge amount of improvements and changes including the overall look. Even better still is that there are still available spots open for beta testers should you want to sign-up!
Playing against computer AI – however well designed – gets old once in a while. There’s something very rewarding about cooperating with (or beating the hell out of) other people.
