Marvel returns to the fray of mobile fighting games with the launch of Marvel Contest of Champions. Marvel’s previous fighting game effort, Avengers Initiative, borrowed heavily from Infinity Blade, a fighting game which found success by offering a boss rush style of gameplay.

A new tower offense game has arrived today on Google Play called Ambush!. Developed by Creative’s Mobile Fun Factory, this game lets you invade other players’ bases in a tower defense/offense style of gameplay. What this essentially means is that while you are building up your defenses for your realm, players can attack you and the same goes for you attacking other people.
Gameloft’s Heroes of Order & Chaos MOBA will soon be getting an update which will make the game more of a serious MOBA title by adding some new features to the game. One of the big features that will be coming with this update is a Ban & Pick phase which is what you see in titles such as League of Legends when playing competitively.
“There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?” these words in the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens sent shivers down my spine, for the first time since 2005 I was seeing live action Star Wars footage. After a few more viewings of the 88 seconds of bliss, I was reminded that I was planning on reviewing a Star Wars Game for DroidGamers, Star Wars Commander.
There is a new Minecraft inspired game available on Android now called Cubic Castles. Developed by ex-PopCap developers, their goal was to create a sandbox-style game like Minecraft but adding in the playful gameplay style found in a lot of Nintendo classics like Super Mario Bros. Think platformer and sandbox building game combined into one title with cute graphics.
Great news for all the Borderlands franchise fans out there! The newly announced Borderlands Online for PC will also be coming to mobile! However the bad news is that the release of this game for PC and mobile has been announced for China only right now.
Fire Quest – Age of Titans hits up Kickstarter for funding. Goal is to take down Clash of Clans.
It is one thing to make a game that ends up competing for the player base for a particular game or two. It is another thing altogether to develop a game with the goal to knock a specific title that is already released out of the first place spot for their genre. However that is exactly what Fire Quest – Age of Titans is aiming to do with Clash of Clans.
Apparently nothing shows the Christmas Spirit better than two robots beating the crap out of each other. At least that is the impression we are starting to get thanks to the amount of robot-themed combat games that seem to be getting released over the past couple of weeks. As you may have guessed, since we are writing this, that another one has landed on Google Play called Android Overkill.
Way back in March of 2013 Wargaming.net announced that they would be bringing their tank combat franchise to Android. It seemed as though development was doing good because almost a year later in March 2014, World of Tanks Blitz went into a closed beta testing phase. After that though things went a bit quiet about the release of this game… a little too quiet.
OverVolt is a fairly successful slot car racing game on Window Phone right now and the developers have been working on porting it over to Android since its release. Now it is close to being finished and is planned for release onto Google Play by the end of November.
