While Animal Crossing may never see a mobile game, there could be companion apps on the way

We don’t need to rehash Nintendo’s standpoint about bringing any of their games to mobile devices other than their own. Everyone knows their stance on this by now. The same goes for a lot of titles made by third party developers who call Nintendo their home and this includes Animal Crossing’s creator Katsuya Eguchi. However Katsuya does have some interest in the mobile field.

Shareholder urges Nintendo to make free-to-play games, his idea is absolutely horrible though

Look, we all want Nintendo to bring their games to Android, at least to some degree. It could just be the classics if need be. Of course everyone can just use emulators but having a game native to your device does have its benefits. One shareholder is urging Nintendo to reconsider its stance on mobile gaming but what this shareholder is suggesting makes us think that Nintendo can just keep their games if they actually do what this person is suggesting.

Nintendo, a very confused looking company, confirms now it will make Apps and maybe games for mobile

Nintendo is looking mighty confused these past few days it seems with regards to what it wants to do with mobile devices. First, awhile ago, Nintendo adamantly stated that it wouldn’t be bringing games to mobile platforms. The a rumor popped up that it would be making mini-games for mobile but that was squashed almost immediately by Nintendo in a statement. Now it is confirmed that there is a plan for mobile devices with the company after all.

Nintendo tells the mobile world why franchises like Zelda and Mario won’t arrive anytime soon

Nintendo has remained an interesting company when you look at their stance over the past couple of years regarding bringing some of their popular franchises over to mobile device for mobile gamers to enjoy. Awhile back the company stated that it would never bring their games over to smartphones and tablets and there is a logical reason as to why they would think this way – they have their own mobile gaming platform to worry about.

High speed Nintendo DS emulator DraStic has arrived onto Google Play

Back in the middle of July we reported on a new Nintendo DS emulator that was being developed for Android called DraStic. One of the bigger claims that this emulator makes is that it is a high speed emulator which is good since it seems like most Nintendo DS emulators tend to not run at full speed and actually end up running pretty slowly. Of course that is partly also dependent on what device you’re running it on.

Rumor: Nintendo looking at possibly supporting smartphone applications

Well isn’t this a tad ironic. After our post yesterday about Ouya which sent many of you, our readers, into a frenzy due to a comment about the Wii U, it appears that Nintendo may be looking at the possibility of supporting smartphone applications and games. Of course we’ve heard far fetched rumors before including the rumor that the Wii U actually was running a version of Android, or Nintendo was considering it at least.

OUYA already has a few Nintendo emulators lining up for it

OUYA is nearing its official launch date, at least for backers of the rather successful Kickstarter campaign it had, with units slated to ship out on March 28th, 2013 to those who backed the appropriate level to receive an early unit. It appears that plenty of emulators are being worked on for the Android-powered console, most of which are Nintendo-based emulators.
