Sony’s Remote Play application for the Playstaton 4 is officially only available for Xperia devices of course, and if you want it on your non-Xperia device then you will need to root your phone or tablet. Well, that used to be the case. Now there is a way to use the Playstation 4 Remote Play app on your Android device without having to root it.
Remote Play with the PlayStation 4 is now possible with non-rooted Android devices 4.2 and higher.
Sony announced two new smartphones, the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, each of which will support Remote Play from the PlayStation 4. Owners of both the PS4 and Xperia Z3 will be able to play PS4 games on the Xperia Z3 screen, with the help of a new accessory, the Game Control Mount GCM10.
A couple of weeks ago we talked about a new application coming from Sony which would be the official companion app for their next-gen console, the Playstation 4. This companion app features plenty of the standard social features along with being able to use the second-screen feature when it is available in a game.

When the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 were announced this year there was a heavy focus on second-screen experiences as well as social features that both consoles would be coming having integrated into them. Yesterday, as probably most of you are aware of, Sony held their Playstation event where the company announced their next console, the Playstation 4. The press conference, which seemed to last forever, also featured a lot of information on mobile aspects that the console will bring with its release. While most of it was focused on the PS Vita, there was some interesting news regarding Android smartphones and tablets as well.

We also know that there are rumors that the Playstation 4 could offer up various features that will be remotely controlled through your smartphone and tablet which isn’t really much of a surprise considering their recent push of Playstation Mobile. The race in the new console wars has begun with proponents for each side. Will the new Xbox 720 (code named Durango), or the the Playstation 4 (code named Orbis)come out on top? Right now it is anyone guess. What is a sure bet though is that both are likely to make use of your smartphone or tablet.
