Rovio’s latest cross-over game with their Angry Birds franchise, called Angry Birds Star Wars, has arrived right on time for Android gamers to download and lose an entire day today at least of productivity at work or school. Featuring some new gameplay mechanics in the form of new Angry Birds powers and all the physics from past Angry Birds games, Rovio seems to have brought it all together under one title to breath new life into the franchise.
Thumbstar games has teamed up with Urbanscan to announce the first in a series of releases that the two companies will be doing together for Android. Called Gem Smashers, their first game release together, this is a action puzzler with 3D rendered graphics that puts a bit of a new spin on the Break Out / Arkanoid type of gaming we’ve seen available in the past.
We’ve talked about this ‘game’ a few times in the past which was originally called Curiosity until NASA made Peter Molyneux change the name to Curiosity: What’s Inside The Box. For those who have missed our previous coverage of this game, basically everyone, regardless of what platform they are playing it on, are whacking away at a giant cube, trying to be the one to strike the final blow and learn what is inside the cube.
Rovio has released yet another video about Angry Birds Star Wars, their upcoming cross-over between the two franchises, and this will likely be the last video released before the launch of the game in a few days. We’ve already seen gameplay videos for most of the birds and their new special powers that they will have in this game. This video shows all of it in once sitting, from the red bird’s light saber which can reflect lasers to the yellow bird who can shoot lasers.
There are no shortages of Kickstarter projects relating to gaming to try and fund, even if you break it down to mobile gaming. All of the usually have a good idea or a unique twist to them and Raylight definitely has a unique look to their puzzle game that they are trying to get funded called ‘illo – Birth of the Cool. Aside from the rather entertaining title, this puzzle game features quite the unique art style to it, having not really seen anything quite like this before.
If you haven’t had enough Angry Birds Star Wars videos to watch, whether it be the earlier promotional videos with scenes from the actual movies or the new gameplay videos Rovio has been releasing steadily, then you’re in luck as today Rovio has released yet another Angry Birds Star Wars video. This time we get to see Han Solo and Chewbacca in action. At this rate we won’t need to play the game because we will have seen everything in all the videos Rovio has been releasing.
A new update has been pushed out for Rovio’s Angry Birds Space game which appears to finish the cycle of updates that seem to have been going on over the last couple of weeks with the entire Angry Birds series. It seems like every Angry Birds game has now gotten an update with new content and Angry Birds Space has finally gotten theirs.
Time for some more Star Wars news but this time it is about the upcoming Rovio Angry Birds/Star Wars crossover, appropriately named Angry Birds Star Wars. Rovio is continuing their onslaught of teaser videos and trailers and today we get a new gameplay trailer that features R2-D2 and C-3PO birds. The last video, in case you missed it, featured Luke and Leia.
Rovio’s Angry Birds spin-off game, Bad Piggies, has received an update that add fifteen new levels to the game. However, it isn’t just a few levels that come with the update, although the new levels are pretty interesting as you’ll be building your contraptions and getting those pigs from point A to point B under a moonlit sky.
The creators of the classic first-person adventure game called Shadowgate have gone over to Kickstarter to bring a new re-imagined and revamped version out to the world and this new version will be made available on a variety of platforms including Android tablets. This inclusion of Android tablets as one of the supported platforms isn’t a stretch goal either, which is something that happens with a decent amount of these Kickstarter project. Instead, it will be released onto Android tablets when the game launches.
