Well, our Under The Radar column was meant to be something we did once every week or so, but in just the past few days I’ve come across some really good titles from first-time indie developers. So that leads us to our second Under The Radar for the week. More than half of the games on this list can be classified under the “brutal” category, so if you’re looking for challenging games then be sure to give them a go.

The Chinese New Year is upon us and for those of you who celebrate this particular it is always a time to celebrate. The folks over at Zeptolabs also think it is a time to celebrate and have released a new update today for Cut The Rope called Lantern Box and along with this update comes a new gameplay element.
A new horror-themed adventure puzzle game is currently in development by Night Light Interactive called Whispering Willows. Right now there isn’t a whole lot of details available regarding the game but we do have a gameplay video showing some of the gameplay from an alpha build of the game.
Yesterday we reported on a new game coming from EA called The Simpsons: Tapped Out which has been a rather popular game over on iOS since its release over there. The weird thing yesterday was that even though it was available on Google Play on EA International’s account, almost no one was able to download it. On top of that there isn’t even a North American version right now.
Release a game onto Google Play but don’t let anyone download it right away. That little scenario has happened a few times in the past with other games such as Avengers Initiative which sat on the Google Play store dormant for a couple of months, with not a single person able to download it. Well EA has released The Simpsons: Tapped Out onto Android finally but no one seems to be able to actually download it just yet.
An interesting and rather cool new puzzle platformer has arrived on Google Play called Marbelous!. Developed by a single person in their free time over the past two months, this neat little game has you playing as a lone marble who happened to fall down the drain in a sink and ended up in some whacked out underworld.

If you know of more quality games released recently that have not got the attention they deserve, let us know by leaving a comment below!
One of my favorite types of games is word games and there are plenty of them in the Android market. Today I have two relatively new ones for all you wordsmiths out there. So get your Dictionaries and Thesauruses ready if you snag either of these games off of Google Play.
A few days ago, HeroCraft released a new game onto Google Play called Jail Run. This is a decent little puzzle game where you grab loot and avoid traps in a bid to escape the dungeon you’re held captive in. We covered it in our latest Under the Radar column a few days ago.
Ever since the first day, the pause menu in Angry Birds: Star Wars HD contained a couple of ads for Rovio’s other games. Considering this was a paid game costing $2.99, the presence of the ads was baffling, irrespective of whether the ads were only for Rovio’s other titles. However, users could turn off the ads by tapping a button in the in-game menu, so a large-scale protest never materialized.
