Well for those of you who managed to partake in the Summer Alpha testing phase for Albion Online, our fun times will be coming to a close soon. The Summer Alpha program will be ending on July 27th which is Monday of next week, but it won’t be closing without a bang.

The Albion Online Summer Alpha has been in full swing for the past few weeks and it has been going pretty good, at least on the PC side of things. A lot of mobile players haven’t been able to enjoy the game too much due to it still needing plenty of optimizing for the visuals so they don’t hog your resources and produce rendering lag. If you are one of the few that doesn’t experience a lot of that, such as myself, then you’ve probably been enjoying your time in Albion Online’s Summer Alpha quite a lot.
A week ago we reported on an upcoming MMORPG called Albion Online which was about to start a Summer Alpha testing phase for players who have purchased either the Epic or Legendary Founder’s Packs. We also mentioned that this Alpha would be starting this week and sure enough the gate have opened and the Summer Alpha has begun.
There is a new Minecraft inspired game available on Android now called Cubic Castles. Developed by ex-PopCap developers, their goal was to create a sandbox-style game like Minecraft but adding in the playful gameplay style found in a lot of Nintendo classics like Super Mario Bros. Think platformer and sandbox building game combined into one title with cute graphics.
Mines of Mars is a side-scrolling RPG from Crescent Moon games. For those that aren’t familiar with them, they also created the FPS called Neon Shadow, RPG RavenSword, and a slew of other games covering all sorts of genres. In my experience with their games, they don’t slouch. So to little surprise, this pattern holds with Mines of Mars.
With rumors of a purchase between the two companies floating around last week, today the announcement has been made official that Microsoft will be purchasing Mojang for a mere $2.5 Billion. There are a few reasons for the sale but one of the main ones if that Notch has wanted to work on smaller projects and running a company this size, which he never though he would be doing, isn’t allowing him to work on these smaller projects.
[Updated] Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.9.0 snapshot is now out, here is the whole list of features added
The massively long wait for the 0.9.0 update for Minecraft: Pocket Edition is now finally over. Mojang has just pushed the snapshot update onto Google Play and people should start seeing it become available in the a few minutes. If you haven’t been following what will be coming with this update, we have the full list of goodies here for you to check out.
Previously released on Android and iOS, The Sandbox is making its way to the Android micro-console Ouya. Developed by Pixowl, Inc., The Sandbox gives players the ability to create their own 2D world using various resources.
Nvidia brings the joyful chaos of the Mount & Blade franchise to Android with Mount & Blade: Warband
The Mount & Blade franchise of games is currently available for PC gamers to enjoy but that is all changing today as Nvidi and Taleworld Entertainment have unleashed Mount & Blade: Warband onto Android. The joyful chaos that is this franchise is indeed ow playable on Android, complete with all the multiplayer madness that you would be hoping for.
Upcoming Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.9.0 update will finally bring Caves to the game, Slimes as well.
It has been a bit since we last posted about Minecraft: Pocket Edition and what kind of content we can look forward to in the next update. In fact we haven’t posted about this game since the last major update but that doesn’t mean things aren’t in the works, features that people have been wanting for awhile now.
